Swieqi United women’s team received a major boost following the news that forward Salamatu Abdulai has agreed to extend her contract for another season.
Salamatu was one of the outstanding performers for Swieqi United last season as the speedy winger managed to end up as the leading scorer in the women’s league with 23 goals.
On the other hand, Salamatu also played a leading role with the youth team that managed to win the league and cup double.
Salamatu’s performances did not go unnoticed by her country’s national team selectors as the 19-year-old has been selected to represent Ghana at the U-20 World Cup that will be held in September.
“We are thrilled to announce that our speedy Salamatu Abdulai has extended her contract with Swieqi United for another season!,” Swieqi United said in a statement.
“This will be Salamatu’s second season with the Owls. The Ghanaian national player made a significant impact during last year’s campaign at both senior and youth levels, finishing as the overall senior league’s top scorer with 23 goals and playing a pivotal role in our youth team’s double.
“With Salamatu’s exceptional skills and dedication, we are excited for what the upcoming season holds.”
