Melita FC have announced the signing of Spanish defender Marc Van De Bovenkamp.
The Amateurs have been very active during this summer’s transfer window in a bid to build a competitive squad ahead of their return to the Maltese top-flight next season.
“We are excited to announce the addition of the 25-year-old Spanish defender Marc Van De Bovenkamp who will be representing the club in the Premier League next season,” Melita said in a statement.
“Marc joins for his first overseas experience, having plied his trade in the third tier of Spanish football over his career, most recently with Barbadas.
“The addition of the towering, left footed defender will continue to bolster our defensive line as we strengthen the side ahead of the upcoming campaign!
“Welcome to Melita FC Marc, we can’t wait to see you out on the pitch!”
Meanwhile the Amateurs have also announced that 23-year-old goalkeeper Gosef Mizzi has signed his first professional contract with the club that will keep him at Melita for the next three seasons.
“Gosef joined the club from Swieqi United last season, instantly fitting in and leaving his mark on the club, playing every Challenge League game and keeping 11 clean sheets on the way to our deserved success,” the club said.
“His calm approach in goal as well as his humble and hard-working attitude will definitely be an asset in the top division over the coming campaign!”
