Birkirkara forward Maxuell Maia has been named as the LifeStar Most Valuable Player for August.
Roberto Apap Bologna, CEO of LifeStar Insurance, presented the award ahead of Birkirkara’s fixture against Hibernians on Saturday.
The Lifestar MVP of the Month is voted for by the Head Coaches and captains of all the 360Sports Malta Premier clubs, national team and U-21 team coaches and media through an online system which protects the confidentiality of each voter.
Maia won the award after picking up nine votes to finish ahead of Steve Pisani, of Sliema Wanderers, and Melita forward Andre who collected four votes apiece.
“We are very excited and proud to be a supporter of 360Sports Malta Premier. As life and health insurance providers we are dedicated to promoting healthy lifestyles, and sport is a very important part of it,” said Paolo Catalfamo, Chairman of LifeStar Insurance.
Alan Abela, chairman of Kampjonat Malta Ltd, which manages the league, added: “We warmly welcome Lifestar to the 360Sports Malta Premier growing family. The decision to put their name to one of the most coveted awards by athletes competing in our league is a win-win outcome for both of our entities.”
