Qala Saints registered their second consecutive win in the GFA Division One when they defeated Oratory Youths 4-0 and move top of the GFA Division One.
On the other hand, champions Nadur Youngsters are still in search of their first win after they were held to a goalless draw by Xewkija Tigers.
Qala Saints produced a dominant performance to overcome Oratory Youths, who were suffering their second successive defeat.
Oratory tried to put up a fight against the title challengers and made life difficult for their opponents, conceding very little scoring chances.
But Qala finally broke their resistance on 34 minutes through a low shot by Kevin Farrugia.
The Saints doubled their lead on 65 minutes with a goal from Ezekiel Eduardo before Igor Nedeljkovic wrapped up the points with a late brace.
Xagħra United are enjoying an excellent start in the championship and earned their first three points as they beat Għajnsielem 4-1.
It looked as though the Blacks were on their way to securing a win when they surged ahead after 19 minutes courtesy of a Joseph Ezogbo goal.
But Xagħra fought back and levelled matters a minute later through Lucas Farrugia.
Xagħra completed their comeback on 33 minutes with a fine shot rom Julian Bicudo before adding a third goal in stoppage time through Johan Castano.
After the break, Xagħra remained on top and sealed the points with a fourth goal scored by Farrugia on 70 minutes.
In the main match of the weekend, Nadur Youngsters and Xewkija Tigers cancelled each other in a goalless draw.
The match was devoid of scoring chances even though both teams could have won it late on as Xewkija had a good attempt on 81 minutes by Brian Parada that was stopped by the crossbar.
Three minutes from time, Nadur were awarded a penalty for a handling infringement by Carlo Abela but from the spot Andre Martins saw his shot saved by goalkeeper Nikola Kosanin.
