Floriana’s versatile player, Carlo Zammit Lonardelli, has been named LifeStar Most Valuable Player for September.
This season, under the guidance of coach Darren Abdilla, Zammit Lonardelli has impressed in the right wingback role, playing a key part in helping Floriana remain unbeaten in the 360Sports Malta Premier League so far.
Out of 25 votes submitted, Zammit Lonardelli received seven, two more than Mosta’s Prince Afriyie and Birkirkara’s forward and August MVP, Maxuell Maia, who earned five votes each.
At 23 years old, Carlo Zammit Lonardelli has made 75 Malta Premier League appearances, scoring six goals.
He also has four caps for Malta and is currently in his third consecutive season with Floriana.
A product of the Birkirkara youth academy, he made his Malta Premier League debut for Birkirkara against Ħamrun on April 21, 2018, just eight days before his 17th birthday.
He also spent several seasons abroad, playing for Zrinski (Croatia) and Italian Serie D clubs Fidelis Andria and Arzachena.
After one season with Sirens in 2021/22, he joined Floriana in the summer of 2022.
