Atletico Mineiro sealed their place in the final of the Copa Libertadores on Tuesday after a 0-0 draw with River Plate in Buenos Aires.
The Brazilian club had all but assured themselves a place in next month’s final after winning last week’s first leg 3-0.
They completed their 3-0 aggregate victory after a gritty defensive performance at the Estadio Monumental.
River dominated possession and had 35 shots to Atletico’s five.
But the Argentines were unable to find a way through some dogged defending from Atletico who are all but guaranteed to face Brazilian rivals Botafogo in the final.
Botafogo lead Uruguayan team Penarol 5-0 after their semi-final leg and can clinch their berth in the final in Wednesday’s return fixture.
