J-League second-division outfit Jubilo Iwata named former Yokohama F Marinos interim boss John Hutchinson as their new manager.

The 44-year-old Australian was an assistant for Marinos and took the reins midway through the 2024 season after the club dismissed first-year manager Harry Kewell.

Iwata, three-time champions of the J-League first division between 1997 and 2002, were relegated to J2 after finishing 18th in the 20-team top flight this year.

Marinos earlier in the week announced former England assistant Steve Holland as their new manager.

At Marinos, Hutchinson oversaw the club in 28 matches, winning 15 of them.

Previously, he worked in the United States at Seattle Sounders and El Paso Locomotive FC.

The Australian-born coach collected 11 Malta caps during his playing career.
