Claudio Grech is set to remain at the helm of Valletta FC as he is the only candidate for the club’s presidential elections on Sunday, the newly-promoted club announced in a statement.
Grech was installed as Valletta FC’s new president last year. He replaced Alexander Fenech, who decided to step down from the job.
During the past 12 months, Grech and the other members of the Valletta FC committee worked hard to help the club get back on its feet after they were relegated from the Premier League for the first time in the club’s history.
But the new administration managed to rebuild the squad and the team secured promotion at their first attempt, much to the delight of their legion of fans.
Grech will be seeking the club members’ approval during Sunday’s Annual General Meeting during which the members will be informed of new developments at the club.
“As Valletta FC we are informing our fans that during the period open for nominations for the post of president of the club, we only received one nomination, that of Claudio Grech,” the club said in a statement.
“His nomination was verified and conforms with the club’s statute.”
“Sunday’s Annual General Meeting is set to be a crucial one for the club’s future, as we are planning to announce several developments of huge importance. Thus, we are appealing to all fans to attend.”
