Branko Nisevic has pledged his future with Hibernians after he reached an agreement to sign a new one-year contract.
Nisevic is coming from a topsy-turvy campaign with Hibernians during which the Paolites struggled for results in the Premier League.
But the Paola club left the best for last with a strong performance in the FA Trophy, where, after knocking out champions Ħamrun Spartans in the semi-finals, they went on to lift the Cup for the 11th time in their club history following a 2-1 win over Birkirkara in the final.
The future of the Serbian coach was a bit in the air for the past few weeks, and reports said that Nisevic was set to part ways with the Paola club.
However, Nisevic had always ignored speculation and made it clear that he would hold talks with the Hibernians’ top hierarchy at the end of the season and decide his future.
This week, Nisevic sat down with Hibernians president Ranier Bezzina to discuss his future, and an agreement was reached that will see the experienced coach sign a new contract.
The news will be a major boost for Hibernians who can now start preparations for the new season which will get under way with participation in the UEFA Conference League qualifiers in July.
