Nigerian striker Sasere joins Birkirkara

Birkirkara have announced the signing of Nigerian striker Franklin Sasere.

The Stripes were looking to bolster their squad with a proven goalscorer following the departure of Maxuell Maia, who joined Gżira United.

Sasere turned out to be Birkirkara’s first option after the towering forward became a free agent as his contract with Floriana was not renewed.

“Birkirkara is pleased to announce the signing of Nigerian forward, Franklin Sasere,” the Premier League club said in a statement.

“The 26-year-old powerhouse is no new face to Malta, having had previous experiences with Hamrun Spartans FC and Floriana FC, respectively. The prolific striker will bring valuable experience to the squad, having scored 31 goals with his previous two clubs.”

On his part, Sasere expressed his pride at joining a historic club like Birkirkara.

“I’m excited to join this historic club, and I’m ready to give my all for the team. I am excited to experience this new chapter and face new challenges.”
