Sliema Wanderers have confirmed the signing of Malta striker Luke Montebello.
The Times of Malta had reported last month that the towering striker was closing in on a move to the Wanderers and the Premier League club have now confirmed that the player had completed his move to the Blues.
“The talented 29-year-old Maltese International striker has joined the Blues to bolster our offensive line,” Sliema Wanderers said in a statement.
“He’s here and nothing is going to hold him back!”
The Malta international striker was without a contract after he parted ways with Ħamrun Spartans earlier this year and was seeking a club to restart his career.
The Blues have been working hard to bring in top-quality signings this summer as they bid to put behind them a rather disappointing campaign that saw them miss out on all major silverware and fail to secure European football.
The Wanderers identified Montebello to add more firepower to their forward line and an agreement was reached between all parties.
