Bjorn Kristensen has pledged his future with Hibernians after putting pen to paper on a new contract, the Premier League club announced.
Kristensen has been one of the longest-serving players with the Paola club during the past few years, and last season he helped the club to win the FA Trophy after defeating Birkirkara in the final.
His contract expired at the end of last season, and speculation was rife that Kristensen might seek pastures new.
However, Hibernians quickly opened talks with the veteran midfielder and a new contract was agreed.
“We are delighted to announce that Bjorn Kristensen has extended his stay with Hibernians FC,” the Premier League club said in a statement.
“A true leader on and off the pitch, Bjorn continues to be a pillar of strength in our squad as we look ahead to the 2025/26 Malta Premier League season.”
On his part, Kristensen could not hide his delight that he had agreed to prolong his stay at the Paola club.
”Proud to wear these colours. I’m ready to give my all for this badge once again,” Kristensen was quoted as saying.
