On Tuesday, the FSR Malta FA department, together with the UEFA Foundation, participated in the pre-match activities of the WEURO2025 semi-final between England and Italy where a group of kids followed the teams in their pre-match activities, visiting the stadium using a telepresence robot, @awabot, provided by UEFA.

The kids had the opportunity to visit the team’s dressing rooms, the stadium, and speak to the individuals during the two-hour pre-match activities. They maneuvered the robot and asked questions live.

The Malta FA FSR also used this as an occasion to show solidarity with Jess Carter, the England Women defender subjected to racist abuse on social media during EURO 2025. Some of the participants wore StopTheHate armbands during the event.

The kids in attendance were from the Malta FA and UEFA Foundation Being There project w/Richmond Foundation, the Girls Academy, and youths from the Special Olympics, as well as Puttinu Cares.

The kids took turns to be in control of the robot.

The Malta FA FSR‘s very own photographer, Kyra Borg Delicata, documented the event.
