Veteran goalkeeper Justin Haber returns to Hibernians FC

Hibernians FC have confirmed the signing of veteran goalkeeper Justin Haber.

The experienced goalkeeper have been looking to join a new club since he left fellow Premier League side Żabbar St Patrick at the end of last season.

“Hibernians FC is pleased to confirm the signing of Justin Haber,” the Premier League club announced.

“The 44-year-old goalkeeper, a former Maltese international, returns for his third spell with the club.

“Welcome back, Justin!”

For Haber this is his third spell at Hibernians after donning the colours of the club during the second part of the 2015-16 and 2022-23 seasons.

Throughout his long career in Maltese football, Haber was also on the books of his boyhood club Floriana, Birkirkara, Marsaxlokk, Mosta, and Santa Lucia.

The former Malta goalkeeper brings a lot of experience at Hibernians having enjoyed a long career away from our shores where he managed to play in several countries with his most eye-catching spells being at English side Sheffield United and Hungarian giants Ferencvaros.

Haber’s move to Hibernians comes after a difficult few weeks for the former Malta goalkeeper who was forced to resign from the Floriana local council, after her was found guilty of threatening to behead his sister.

Haber, a former goalkeeper who won 54 caps for the Maltese national team, was handed a restraining order by a court last week, after admitting under oath that on January 8 he sent his sister Pearl Vella Haber a voice message in which he threatened to behead her. He had initially pleaded not guilty.

Haber was first elected to the Floriana local council in 2022 after contesting on the Labour ticket.
