Haley Bugeja continued to find the back of the net for Inter after netting in the first competitive match of the 2025/2026 season.
The Inter forward has been in a rich vein of form during the pre-season, scoring four goals in seven matches including against Roma and Atletico Madrid.
Bugeja, who has extended her Inter contract to another four years, was in the starting line-up as Inter faced Genoa Women in the opening match of the Serie A Women’s Cup, a newly-inaugurated tournament which serves as a curtain-raiser for the new season.
The Malta forward found the net as Inter won 2-1.
Meanwhile, Malta women’s captain Emma Lipman was in the starting formation for Genoa as she will stay at the club for another year having helped the win promotion to the top-flight for the first time, last season.
Malta’s Rachel Cuschieri will also stay at the club but was unavailable for selection for this match.
