The official draws for the Enemed Men’s and Women’s Futsal Leagues 2025/26 were held at the AX Palace Hotel, with all participating clubs present this week.
Futsal competitions this year will again feature a championship in both the men and women’s categories.
The men’s competition will get underway on Wednesday, October 8, at the National Sports School.
This year’s format includes a single round-robin, after which teams will split into Premier and Challenger Leagues.
Playoffs follow the same system, with two-legged semi-finals and a best-of-three final.
The Women’s League will run on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, kicking off on Tuesday, October 21, at De La Salle College.

The format will see two league rounds, with the top four advancing to the playoffs. Semifinals will be played over two legs, with extra time in the event of a tie, while the final will be a best-of-three series.
During the draw meeting, it was also noted that this season will include a number of exciting developments for futsal in Malta.
Both the men’s and women’s Super Cups will be staged in December at the National Sports School, accompanied by a dedicated Futsal Village for supporters.
For the first time, the finals will also make use of Football Video Support technology, adding an extra layer of professionalism to the competitions.
In addition, discussions with SportMalta are nearing completion to secure training hours at the Cottonera Sports Complex, giving clubs greater access to facilities at subsidised rates.
Matches will again be streamed live on the Futsal Malta YouTube channel, while supporters are strongly encouraged to attend matches in person to experience the vibrant atmosphere first-hand.

Closing the event, Futsal Malta vice-presidentKurt Rizzo emphasized the significance of this anniversary season. He thanked Enemed, SportMalta, the media, and the clubs for their support, stressing that futsal in Malta continues to grow in both quality and popularity, with this season set to be a landmark year for the sport.
Karl Loftus, Commercial Manager of Enemed, long-standing partners of Futsal Malta, expressed his delight at continuing this collaboration, noting that Enemed is proud to support futsal and the wider sporting community.
He praised the committee’s commitment and enthusiasm, wishing all teams success in the upcoming season.
