David Lappartient re-elected president of global cycling body

David Lappartient has been re-elected for a third consecutive four-year term as president of the International Cycling Union (UCI), the Frenchman announced on Thursday.

“Honored to be re-elected as UCI President for a third term! Grateful for your trust and excited to continue advancing cycling worldwide,” Lappartient posted on social media.

The 52-year-old stood unopposed for the role he has occupied since 2017.

Lappartient was also president of the French Olympic Committee from 2023 to 2025, notably overseeing the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

He unsuccessfully ran for the presidency of the International Olympic Committee earlier this year.
