Lausanne goalkeeper Karlo Letica was featured in this week’s top saves from MatchDay 2 of the UEFA Conference League, compiled by the media team of the European governing body of football, after his stunning stop against Malta champions Ħamrun Spartans.

Lausanne-Sport bagged their second win in the League Phase of the UEFA Conference League with hard-fought 1-0 win over Ħamrun Spartans at the National Stadium.

However, the Swiss side had to sweat for the three points as they needed to fend off a spirited challenge from the Spartans, who were left to rue a series of missed chances throughout the 90 minutes that denied them their first point in the competition.

Letica turned out to be Lausanne’s hero as the towering goalkeeper produced a stunning reflex save in the 36th minute on Ħamrun forward Saliou Thioune that kept the result at 0-0.

Letica’s brilliant save turned decisive as barely two minutes later, Lausanne went on to snatch the all-important goal when Gaoussou Diakite curled the ball past the diving Ħamrun Spartans goalkeeper Henry Bonello.

This was the second time that Ħamrun Spartans featured among the Top Saves as after Match Day One, Jagiellonia goalkeeper Slawomir Abramowicz produced a stunning one-handed save on Ante Coric to help his team clinch a 1-0 win over the Spartans at the Bialystok City Stadium.
