San Ġiljan ASC completed a major transfer coup with the acquisition of Malta international player Alec Fenech.
Fenech joins San Ġiljan after coming through the ranks of rivals Neptunes and slowly forcing his way into the national team set-up.
During his career, Fenech has also enjoyed spells in foreign championships as he plied his trade in France and Hungary and early this year, he announced his move to Romanian side Steaua Bucuresti.
“San Giljan ASC is proud to announce the permanent signing of 20-year-old Alec Fenech ahead of the upcoming season,” San Ġiljan ASC said in a statement.
“Despite his young age, Alec is already a well-established and experienced talent, having played not only in Malta, but also in France, Hungary, and currently with Steaua București in Romania – one of Europe’s leading clubs, competing in the LEN Euro Cup this year.
“Alec has formed part of all junior national team setups, proving himself to be one of the most accomplished players of his generation in Malta.
“His impressive development has also earned him selection to the senior national team preliminary squad, underlining his maturity and ability to perform at the highest level.
“His new commitment to San Giljan brings both international experience and youthful energy to the squad – a perfect combination as we look to invest in our club’s future.”
