Mġarr United vs Hibernians – Centenary Stadium (7pm).

The Assikura Women’s League returns for the final two matchdays of the 2025 campaign.

Matchday 10 takes centre stage this weekend with a top-of-the-table clash, as league leaders Mġarr United face Hibernians.

The two sides meet just days after contesting the 2025 Malta FA Jubilee Cup – a dramatic final won by Mġarr. The Greens overturned a one-goal deficit with late strikes in the 86th and 90th minute to defeat the Paolites and lift the trophy.

In the league, Mġarr will aim to preserve their perfect record, having won all nine matches so far. They currently lead the standings with 27 points, eight ahead of Hibernians, who will be desperate to reduce the gap before it becomes too late to catch them.

Hibernians also see this as an opportunity to respond following another setback in a major final – their fourth in as many seasons – as they look to keep their title hopes alive.

Swieqi United will similarly aim to stay in the title race as they go into their match against Valletta as clear favourites. The Owls are joint second with Hibernians on 19 points, while Valletta have just one point to show for their efforts.

Meanwhile, Birkirkara – on nine points – will look to create some breathing space between themselves and San Ġwann, who sit five points behind. Earlier this week, the Stripes announced the departure of forward Maya Pellegrini, who had joined them during the summer transfer window.

STANDINGS (after MD9)
Mġarr United 27; Hibernians, Swieqi United 19; Birkirkara 9; San Ġwann 4; Valletta 1.
