Damir Ceter has officially joined Ħamrun Spartans, with the Maltese champions announcing the Colombian striker on Friday, a day after their final UEFA Conference League outing against Shamrock Rovers.
The 27-year-old forward arrives as Ħamrun look to reinforce their attacking options ahead of the resumption of domestic football.
The Spartans now shift their focus back to the Maltese Premier League, where they face Birkirkara in a key encounter as they aim to finish top of the Closing Round of the Opening Phase.
Ceter brings significant international experience, having previously played in Italy with clubs such as Cagliari, Bari, Pescara and Chievo, while also featuring in Colombia’s top two divisions.
While donning the Cagliari colours in Serie A, he made seven appearances without scoring a single goal.
Afterwards, he had a productive loan at Olbia in Serie C with 11 goals in 33 matches.
In the 2025 season with Jaguares de Córdoba, Ceter has been among the better performers in Colombia’s second tier, with 5 goals in 22 matches and high expected-goals (xG) metrics relative to his playing time.
Ceter represented Colombia at the 2017 South American U20 championships, scoring twice in two appearances.
A physically imposing centre-forward, he is expected to add depth and a different profile to Ħamrun’s frontline.
The move could be an early signal of Ħamrun Spartans’ intentions, with the club widely expected to be active during the January transfer window as they target sustained domestic success and improved European competitiveness.
