Mġarr United ended their 2025 commitments with an eight-point lead at the top of the standings after a 2–0 victory over Swieqi United.

The Greens are now strong favourites to claim their maiden women’s league title, although ten matches remain in the campaign. Mġarr are still due to face second-placed Hibernians twice, meaning that avoiding defeat in those encounters would keep them firmly in control of the title race.

Swieqi, meanwhile, slipped to third place and now trail Mgarr by nine points, with their hopes of retaining the crown becoming increasingly slim.

Josline N’Guessan and Valeria Villegas were on target for the Greens.

Hibernians returned to second place with a convincing win over San Ġwann. An own goal, along with strikes from Leah Ayres, Francesca Bartolo and Nicole Sciberras, sealed the victory.

San Ġwann remain on four points and also bid farewell to American forward Hailey Russell, who played her final match before completing a move to Greece.

Birkirkara closed their 2025 commitments in this campaign with a victory over Valletta.

The Stripes raced into a two-goal lead through Momo Ueda and Kay Axiak, with Ueda netting her eighth goal of the season to cement her status as the club’s top scorer.

Valletta pulled one back before half-time, but Birkirkara sealed the win through captain Stephania Farrugia.

The Stripes move up to 15 points, while Valletta remain at the bottom with just one point.

STANDINGS (after MD11)
