Żabbar St Patrick bolstered their defence with the capture of Argentine goalkeeper Ignacio Colombo, the Times of Malta can confirm.
The 28-year-old goalkeeper is regarded as a very talented shot-stopper in his country and is set to strengthen their club’s backline for the second part of the season.
The Premier League club have been hovering the market for an established goalkeeper following the sudden departure of Luca Camilleri in November.
The 1.92m Colombo is regarded as one of the top goalkeepers in Argentina, and recently, he was nominated for the award of Best Goalkeeper in the Copa Argentina after his impressive performances for his club Central Cordoba.
Colombo is expected to be one of a number of signings made by the Żabbar side, who are set to be very active during the January transfer window.
The club have already parted ways with three foreign players, namely Samuel Da Mata Gomes, Abu Dumbuya and Toni Silva and are planning a number of signings as they seek to produce a stronger performance in the Closing Round, and challenge for at least a place in the Top Six.
