To play friendly against Hibernians Women on January 6
Haley Bugeja’s Inter are set to be travelling to Malta next month for a winter training camp during the first week of January 2026.
Inter Women, who compete in the Serie A Femminile, will spend four days in Malta between January 3 and 7, as part of their preparations for the second half of the season. The training camp is being organised in collaboration with VisitMalta.
Helmut Amhof, representing Qmedia Limited, highlighted the importance of the Inter Women team’s visit in enhancing Malta’s reputation as a growing hub for women’s football events in sync with the company’s vision.
“Kickstarting 2026 with women’s football is the central theme of our winter programme, and there is no better way to start the New Year than by welcoming the women’s team of one of Italy’s most popular football clubs,” Amhof said.
“The Inter Women training camp will precede the inaugural VisitMalta Women Club Trophy, meaning that Malta will host five top-level women’s football teams from Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, and Switzerland, during the first two weeks of January.
“I would like to thank VisitMalta for their support in the positive discussions we had with Inter FC regarding this training camp.”
From a local perspective, the visit is expected to attract significant interest from both Inter supporters and Maltese football fans. The training camp will also mark a special homecoming, as Haley Bugeja is set to don the Inter FC Women shirt in Malta for the first time since joining the Italian club in 2023.
The Maltese international recently returned from injury in emphatic fashion, scoring a hat-trick in Inter’s victory over AC Milan.
Further details regarding the official activities of the Inter Women Malta Training Camp, including a friendly match against Hibernians on January 6, 2026 at the Tony Bezzina Stadium, will be announced in due course.
The upcoming visit follows a previous Inter FC training camp held in Malta in December 2022, when the men’s team played friendly matches against Gżira United and Red Bull Salzburg at the Tony Bezzina Stadium.
