Croatian midfielder Ante Coric became the second player to leave Ħamrun Spartans this month, ahead of next month’s transfer window.
The talented midfielder was one of the high-profile signings made by the Malta champions this summer in their bid to reach the League Phase of the UEFA Conference League.
“By mutual agreement, Ħamrun Spartans and Ante Ćorić have decided to terminate their contract,” the club said in a statement.
“The Club would like to sincerely thank Ante for his professionalism, commitment, and valuable contribution during his time with Ħamrun Spartans, and wishes him every success in the next chapter of his career.”
Coric joined the Spartans last summer and was a key figure in helping the team knock out Latvian side RFS and reach the League Phase of the UEFA Conference League.
The former Roma midfielder shone in the UEFA club competition with his influential displays and managed to put his name on the scoresheet during the historic 3-1 win over Gibraltar side Lincoln Red Imps.
During his spell at Ħamrun Spartans, Coric has made 18 appearances, scoring two goals.
Coric is the second player that left the Spartans this month after earlier on Monday it was announced that Bosnian forward Semar Smajlagic was released by the Malta champions.
Ħamrun Spartans are expected to bring in several reinforcements and they have already signed Colombian forward Damir Ceter.
