Tarxien Rainbows are closing in on the signing of Croatian attacking midfielder Marko Musulin, the Times of Malta can confirm.
The Rainbows are looking at the January transfer window as a perfect opportunity to overhaul their squad after a disappointing performance in the Opening Round of the YoHealth Malta Premier.
The Rainbows are currently languishing at the bottom of the standings and need to strengthen their squad to try to avoid finishing in the bottom two places in the Closing Round and battle to retain their top-flight status.
The Premier League strugglers have set their sights on the Croatian livewire who is set to join the club until the end of the season.
Musulin started his career with Jadran and then joined Slovenian side NK Rogaska.
From there, Musulin went on to play for Zmijavci, Bosnia’s GOSK Gabela, and FC Ferizaj, of Kosovo.
Musulin is Tarxien’s fourth signing this month after they have already brought in Polish goalkeeper Alexander Lubik, who was on the books of Melita FC last season, Portuguese midfielder Gilson Costa, who came through the youth ranks of Sporting, and Panama forward Angel Valverde.
On the other hand, the club has released five of the foreigners who started the season with them, namely, Octavio, William Salamao, Ofufu Ibeh, Luke Zango and Thiago Santos.
