Turkish club eye forward N’Dri Koffi
Ħamrun Spartans are set to finalise the signing of Italian midfielder Danilo Bulevardi while forward N’Dri Koffi could be heading to Turkish football, according to reports.
The Spartans are working to strengthen their squad and on Monday night they announced that Lithuanian midfielder Domantas Simkus had joined Premier League rivals Marsaxlokk.
The departure of Simkus has prompted the Spartans to bring a replacement, and on Tuesday, they are awaiting the arrival of Italian midfielder Danilo Bulevardi.
Bulevardi has played in the Italian Serie C for much of his career, and his arrival came about on the insistence of coach Giacomo Modica who is a great admirer of the player for his work rate and ability to win the ball back.
The 30-year-old arrives at the Malta champions after starting the season with Virtus Verona and also boasts experience in playing in the Italian Serie B with Pescara.
During his career, he also donned the colours of Cavese and Gubbio.
Bulevardi is expected to arrive in Malta on Tuesday to finalise his transfer and start training with the Spartans.
On the other hand, there is uncertainty about the future of French striker Koffi.
Media reports this week said that the forward has agreed terms to join Turkish club Vansport.
However, top officials from Ħamrun Spartans told the Times of Malta that the deal has yet to be confirmed, meaning that the forward could be in the squad for Wednesday’s top-of-the-table clash against Floriana.
Koffi joined the Spartans at the start of the season and played an integral role in helping the team secure an historic qualification in the League Phase of the UEFA Conference League.
