Valletta FC have announced the signing of Portuguese forward Diogo Tavares.
The 27-year-old is a familiar face in Maltese football as last season he was on the books of Żabbar SP and helped them reach Premier League safety in their first season among the big boys.
With the Żabbar outfit, Tavares made 32 appearances, scoring ten goals.
This summer he moved back to Portugal where he played for Sporting Joao Ver where he made 11 appearances.
“Valletta Football Club is pleased to welcome Diogo Tavares – a 27-year-old Portuguese attacker who joins the Lilywhites after a strong campaign in the Malta Premier League last season,” the Premier League club said in a statement.
“Diogo brings explosive pace, quick feet and an attacking mindset to our squad. A versatile, two-footed player, he is comfortable operating in multiple offensive roles and is known for his fearless approach, sharp vision and hunger to make an impact.
“A quality addition with the tools to unlock defences and raise our attacking threat as we take #TheNextStep.”
