San Ġwann briefly reduced the deficit late on through Mariam Kasim, but the leaders were already well out of sight.

Mġarr aim to extend lead as Swieqi, Hibernians clash
Matchday 14 of the Assikura Women’s League offers a crucial set of fixtures at both ends of the table as the championship race intensifies.
On Thursday, Valletta host San Ġwann at the Centenary Stadium (8.15pm) in a meeting between the league’s bottom two.
Valletta will be eager to respond after conceding seven against Hibernians and finally add to their points tally, while San Ġwann arrive with renewed confidence after getting on the scoresheet in their heavy defeat to leaders Mġarr United.
Friday’s standout clash sees Swieqi United welcome Hibernians to the Victor Tedesco Stadium (8.30pm) in a direct battle for second place.
Swieqi come into the match on the back of a solid 2-0 win over Birkirkara, powered by Saliba’s brace, while Hibernians are full of confidence after dismantling Valletta 7-1.
With just one point separating the two sides, this encounter could have a significant impact on the race behind leaders Mġarr United.
On Saturday, league leaders Mġarr face Birkirkara at the Charles Abela Stadium (6pm).
Mġarr are in formidable form after their emphatic 6-1 win over San Ġwann and will look to further extend their advantage at the summit. Birkirkara, however, will be keen to bounce back from defeat against Swieqi United and test themselves against the most consistent side in the league so far.
