Mġarr, Swieqi meet in decisive match
All eyes will be on Centenary Stadium on Thursday as leaders Mġarr United take on second-placed Swieqi United in a potentially decisive clash in the Assikura Women’s League title.
With Mġarr sitting top on 43 points and Swieqi trailing on 32, the leaders know that a positive result could all but seal the title, while Swieqi will be looking to delay the inevitable and strengthen their hold on second place.
On Friday, Hibernians host San Ġwann at the Charles Abela Stadium. The Paolites, currently third on 28 points, will be aiming to bounce back from their defeat to Mġarr and close the gap on Swieqi, while San Ġwann are still searching for consistency at the foot of the table.
The round concludes on Saturday with Valletta facing Birkirkara at the Dingli Ground. Birkirkara, fresh from an emphatic win over San Ġwann, will be keen to continue their late push up the standings, while Valletta will be hoping to pick up valuable points after a difficult campaign.
With just one round left and the title race nearing its conclusion, this set of fixtures could prove decisive at both ends of the table.
