Former Marsaxlokk and Floriana FC administrator Julian Attard dies

Marsaxlokk FC announced the passing of the club’s administrator, Julian Attard.

Attard was a popular figure in the football circles for his passion for the game and his warm character.

Apart from his role at Marsaxlokk FC, Attard had also worked at Floriana FC, the club he supported, where he not only served in the role of club administrator but was also team manager of the youth team.

“It is with deep sadness that Marsaxlokk F.C. announces the passing of our beloved administrator, Julian Attard,” Marsaxlokk FC said in a statement.

“On behalf of the committee, players, and supporters, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Julian’s family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.

“Rest in peace, Julian. You will never be forgotten.”

Floriana FC also paid a glowing tribute to Attard for his dedication as he worked with the club for several years.

“It is with profound sadness that Floriana Football Club mourns the passing of Julian Attard, a valued and respected member of the Floriana FC family,” the Greens said in a statement.

“Julian’s dedication and service as a former Club Administrator and Youth team manager formed an important part of our club’s journey, and his contribution will always be remembered with gratitude and respect. Above all, Julian was one of our own, a proud Floriana supporter.

“We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.

“May his memory remain a source of strength and inspiration to us all.”

Former Floriana coach Darren Abdilla described Attard as ‘one of a kind’.

“I’m really sorry and saddened to hear about your passing, my dear friend. From the very first day I met you, you were one of a kind,” Abdilla wrote on his social media.

“I will always remember your kindness, your laughter, and the way you could light up a room just by being yourself. Just Julian, the memories we shared will stay with me forever, and I will always be grateful for the time we had.

“Rest peacefully, my dear friend. You will always be remembered and deeply missed.”

The Malta FA also paid tribute to Attard’s work in local football.

“We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Julian Attard, administrator at Marsaxlokk FC,” the MFA said.

“Throughout his extensive career working in football, Julian was also administrator and Youths team manager at Floriana FC, a club he proudly supported.

“The Malta FA extends its deepest condolences his family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time.
