Mġarr United delivered their first-ever Assikura Women’s League title after beating Valletta 5-0 on Saturday.
The Greens, who were in a league of their own in this 2025/2026 campaign, scored all winning goals after the break with a brace from Josline N’Guessan and goals from Yulya Carella, Valeria Villegas, and Brenda Borg.
After 17 outings, Mġarr are still unbeaten and have dropped points in just a couple of matches – draws against Hibernians and Swieqi United.
Mġarr’s league success follows up their triumph in this season’s Jubilee Cup, as Ryan Vella’s side will now target the Knock-Out competition to secure a memorable treble for the club.
Birkirkara put up a commanding display, beating Hibernians 3-0 as the Stripes continue their positive form in this second part of the campaign.
The Stripes forged ahead in the first half through Kleydiana Monteiro.
After the break, Birkirkara scored twice through Stephania Farrugia and Stella Francalanza.
Swieqi United maintained a firm grip on their second place after beating San Ġwann 3-0.
Sara Saliba opened the score for the Owls before Ghana forward Salamatu Abdulai netted a brace to round up a comfortable win.
Abdulai is now the league’s best scorer with 15 goals, followed by Saliba, just one shy.
