Maltese rider Borg Stringi secures historic second-placing in Moto3 Junior World Championship race

Maltese rider Travis Borg Stringi enjoyed an impressive start in the opening round of the Motor 3 Junior World Championship as he managed to place second in Race 2 at the Circuit de Catalunya.

This is the first time that a Maltese rider managed to step onto the podium of a high-level international motorcycle racing category.

The FIM MotoJunior World Championship, previously known as JuniorGP, is one of the main pathways to Moto3, Moto2, and eventually the prestigious MotoGP World Championship.

Racing for Team Monlau Motou, Borg Stringi had struggled to leave his mark in the opening race when he was forced to retire after only six laps.

But the Maltese rider showed all his promise in Race 2.

Starting in a distant 13th place, Borg Stringi raced through the field to finish in an impressive second place, only behind race winner Giulio Pugliesi.

Borg Stringi is also competing this year in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, where he has already been showing strong pace and promising results.
