Birkirkara have completed the signing of Malta international goalkeeper Rashed Al Tumi.
The Stripes have been looking to bring in a new goalkeeper for this season and set their sights on Al Tumi, who last term was on the books of Sliema Wanderers.
Negotiations between the two parties took some time, but a full agreement was finally reached earlier this week.
“Birkirkara FC is delighted to announce the signing of Maltese international goalkeeper Rashed Al-Tumi,” the club said in a statement.
“Recognised as one of Malta’s finest goalkeepers, Rashed brings quality, ambition, and valuable experience to our squad. His arrival is another important step as we continue to strengthen the team ahead of the new season.
“We are proud to welcome Rashed to the Stripes and look forward to seeing him defend our colours.
“Welcome to Birkirkara FC, Rashed!”
Speaking on the club’s website, Al Tumi expressed his satisfaction in completing a move to Birkirkara.
“I am delighted to be part of this club and am excited to connect with the fans at the stadium soon. Forza Birkirkara!.”
Al Tumi came through the youth ranks of Valletta before heading to Italy, where he played for Palermo, Casarano, Arzachena and Nocerina.
In the summer of 2022, he moved to Sliema Wanderers.
Two years later, he tried his luck with Moldovan side FC Sheriff, but he was back at Sliema at the start of the 2025-26 season.
With the Wanderers, Al Tumi made 86 appearances and helped the club to win the FA Trophy in 2024.
