Paralympic bosses approve venue plan for 2030 Games

Paralympic bosses on Friday approved the venue masterplan for the 2030 Winter Games scheduled to be held in the French Alps.

“The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Governing Board approved the Alpes 2030 Paralympic Winter Games venue masterplan at a meeting in Bonn, Germany,” the body said in a statement.

“Since July 2025, the Alpes 2030 Organising Committee has been reviewing its Paralympic venue masterplan first presented as part of its bid in 2024.”

The IPC said the new plan was accepted due to its “reduced complexity” and better athlete experience.

The Paralympics will be organised around three competition clusters: La Clusaz, Courchevel and Lyon.

La Clusaz will host the nordic skiing events, while the resort of Courchevel will welcome the alpine skiing and snowboarding. Ice hockey and curling will take place in the city of Lyon.

Last month, the International Olympic Committee greenlit changes to the 2030 Olympics venue masterplan, which is still pending final approval.
