Malta international forward Paul Mbong has agreed terms to rejoin Floriana FC.
Mbong was on the books of Serbian side FK Cukaricki but struggled for first-team football and he spent the last six months of last season on loan with Floriana.
The lateral forward played a key role as the Greens were crowned champions last May.
Mbong returned to the Serbian club in the close season but earlier this week he reached an agreement with the club to rescind his contract and become a free agent.
Once a free agent, Mbong held talks with Floriana who have now confirmed that they have snapped the signature of the former Birkirkara player.
“Floriana FC are proud to announce the permanent signing of Paul Mbong,” the club said in a statement.
“A player who needs no introduction, Paul played a pivotal role in the Club’s historic 27th League Title, having joined Floriana on loan in January and quickly establishing himself as a key figure both on and off the pitch.
“Following his release by FK Čukarički of Serbia, the Club’s Administration, led by President Johann Said in conjunction with the Technical Staff, acted swiftly to secure Paul’s return, this time on a permanent transfer.
“Bringing Paul back to Floriana FC reflects the Club’s continued ambition as we build on last season’s success and look ahead to The Next Chapter.
“We welcome Paul back to the Floriana FC family and wish him every success in the Green and White.”
