The Malta BMX Association recently restarted its activities with the BMX Summer Fest at its outdoor track in Pembroke.
The event which was set up in a series of races around the BMX track saw a very encouraging number of BMX riders, skateboarders and mountain bikers from different age-group categories.
The BMX track never fails to provide exciting and breathtaking racing as riders pumped their bikes into its ramps and berms in a show of speed and skill.
The BMX association left no stone unturned to provide a safe and well-supported event with the aid of Red Bull, Alberta, BBB Cycling with the collaboration of Birkirkara St Joseph Sports Club, Rebel Riders, the Malta Mountain Bike Association, the Pembroke Local Council, and SportMalta.
President John Zammit, who has been heading the BMX Association from its foundation, was satisfied with the turnout and level of participation.
“Each year this event attracts a good number of participants and despite the pandemic, we managed to hold a safe event following the guidelines of the Health Authorities and it was a success which fills me with great enthusiasm to work even harder for this sport,” Zammit said during the final presentation ceremony.
Anyone interested in joining the BMX Association one can log on to their facebook page.
