Richard Schulteis has completed the job at the 2020 Euro Cup as the Maltese sailor secured victory in the 29er class ahead of his sister Antonia for an impressive double for the Malta Young Sailing Club duo in the prestigious race.

Richard Schulteis and his team-mate Max Korner started the day with a strong lead at the top of the standings after on Saturday they managed two second-placings before winning the final regatta of the day to move on 13 net points.

That handed them a commanding 15-point advantage over the duo of Antonia Schulteis and Ole Ulrich who were ranked second on 28 net points.

Having such a comfortable advantage at the top, Richard Schulteis and Max Korner just needed to administer their lead in their remaing two races and they did just that.

In fact, they placed third in the opening regatta of the day before ending their commitments with a sixth-place finish that all but wrapped up their title success.

Richard Schulteis and Max Korner finished at the top of the standings with 22 net points.

Antonia Schulteis and Ole Ulrich successfully defended the runners-up spot when they placed sixth in the first race of the day and ended their campaign with a 17th place finish for an overall point tally of 44 net points.

Danish duo Jens-Christian Dehn-Toftehoj and Jens-Philip Dehn-Toftehoj completed the podium when they placed third on 52 net points.

Victoria Schulteis and team-mate Maren Edland ended their commitments in the 49erFX division when placing sixth and ninth in her final two races to finish off with 123 net points.
