Malta international Jake Muscat made his debut in the LEN Champions League with Jadran Herceg as the Montenegrin side suffered a heavy 11-2 defeat to Hungarian giants Ferencvaros.
Muscat joined the Montenegrin side earlier this year on a one-year contract after impressing in his first spell at the club last season.
The Neptunes player was included in Petar Radanovic’s squad for their Champions League opener and he came close to put his name on the scoresheet when with three seconds left he was unlucky to see his shot coming off the post.
Muscat will now hope to be given more playing time on Wednesday, when Jadran Herceg take on German side Waspo98 Hannover.
For Muscat, Tuesday’s match continued a very promising spell with the Montenegrin side.
In fact last week, the 17-year-old made his debut in the Montenegrin Premier League when he played two sessions for his side in a 12-6 win over Cattaro.
