Tarxien Rainbows are closing in on the signing of Argentine striker Ivan Paz, the Times of Matla can reveal.
The Rainbows are keen to bolster their squad as they look to revive their challenge of avoiding relegation to the Challenge League next season.
Coach Winston Muscat has set his sights on bringing in 24-year-old forward Paz who has good knowledge of Maltese football having plied his trade here since 2016.
In fact, after coming through the youth ranks of Belgrano, Paz arrived in Malta in the summer of 2016 when he joined St Andrews.
The following season, Paz moved to Senglea Athletic before returning to Belgrano in 2018.
This season, Paz returned to Maltese football where he started the season with Challenge League side Marsaxlokk.
With the southerners he managed to find the net twice this season.
Should negotiations with Paz conclude successfully, he would become the Rainbows fourth signing of the January transfer window after they managed to secure the services of Carlos Chaba, attacking midfielder Leozinho and forward Erisa Ssekisambu
