Valletta FC have completed the signing of lateral forward Leocisio Julio Sami.
The 32-year-old left-winger has agreed personal terms with the Citizens and has put paper on a deal until the end of the season.
Sami arrives at Valletta FC with an interesting CV as he came through the youth ranks of Benifca before going on to play with a number of clubs in the lower-tie championships in his homeland, namely Desportivo Aves and Maritimo B.
In 2014, he joined Porto and was also on the books of Braga and Vitoria Guimaraes.
In 2016, he headed to Turkey, and joined Akhisar Belediye but then returned to Portugal in January 2017 to move to Arouca.
Last season, Sami played in Oman with Al-Seeb.
Valletta are also hopeful of strengthening their backline with the signing of an overseas defender. However, they face a race against time to complete a deal before tonight’s midnight deadline when the transfer window shut.
On Sunday, Valletta had looked confident to take Dexter Xuereb on loan from Gzira United
