Birkirkara St Helen kept their 100% record in the Kia Veterans League as they beat Rabat Serkin 4-1 thanks to goals by Claude Mattocks, Kevin Degiorgio, Lawrence Vella and a Mark Anthony Debono own-goal.
Rabat replied through Keith Micallef.
In a match that pitted against each other football stalwarts and brothers Stefan and Konrad Sultana, Ħamrun Spartans Veterans beat the MFPA selection 4-0 through goals by Pio Sciriha, Dino Cachia and a brace by Stefan Sultana.
Brian Said (2), Michael Galea and John Soler scored Luxol St Andrews Veterans’ goals in their 4-2 win over Wardija FC. Stephen Wellman and Orosoco Anonam replied for Wardija.
The last game of this week’s programme was the most exciting as Gozo Glory edged a 13-goal-thriller to obtain their first victory.
A last gasp Sylvan Galea goal gave the Gozitans a 7-6 victory over Żejtun Red Stars Veterans, Errol Grima (3), Roderick Farrugia, Matthew Portelli and Malcolm Camilleri also netting for Gozo.
Darren Vella, Eric Saliba (2), Joseph Portelli and Nikolai Filipov replied for the Red Stars.
