Sasha Gatt and Michela Portelli broke new records at the Slovakia Grand Prix on Friday.
Gatt competed in the 1,500 metres freestyle race and touched home in 16 minutes 53.34 seconds to set a new national and Age Group D record. Her timing was a staggering seven seconds faster than the previous national best set in December.
Gatt finished second in her heat to win the silver medal.
On the other hand, Portelli set a new Age Group C record when clocking a time of 1:06.84 in the 100 metres butterfly.
Portelli’s time was 0.22 seconds faster than the previous best set by Andrea Bellia in April 2013.
