Jake Muscat netted two goals as Jadran Herceg Novi moved a step closer to reach the semi-final series of the Montenegro Championship with a convincing 14-5 win over Budva.
Muscat, who joined the Montenegrin side last November, was included in the Jadran squad that welcomed back in the fray Duro Radovic, Dimitrije Obradovic and Dusan Banicevic.
As the scoreline shows, Jadran proved too strong for Budva and all but secured the win by the end of the second quarter when a Muscat goal earned them a commanding 9-1 win.
Muscat grabbed Jadran’s ninth goal with a well-executioned lob.
The Malta international then completed his brace late in the fourth session when he blasted the ball into the net from a close angle to seal a 14-5 victory.
On Tuesday, Jadran will face Qatar where a win would seal second place in their group and a place in the best-out-of-three semi-final series.
These matches will be played between April 10 and 15.
