Ginola on his experience of collapsing on the pitch, praises intervention of players and medics

Former Tottenham, Newcastle and France winger David Ginola recounted how he was dead for nine minutes after he collapsed during a charity match in 2016.

In May, 2016, Ginola had swallowed his tongue and stopped breathing, leaving him clinically dead until paramedics arrived with a defibrillator, and surgeons needed to perform a quadruple bypass to save his life.

This week, Ginola spoke on his experience in the light of Christian Eriksen’s collapse due to a heart failure during Denmark’s opening Euro 2020 match against Finland on Saturday and the Frenchman said that the intervention of the players and medics on the pitch was crucial for his survival.
