Malta international Kristy Galea has completed her move from NCAA Division Two school Alderson Broaddus University to NAIA school Milligan University, the Milligan Buffaloes basketball team confirmed on Monday.
This move for Galea, who was named a Sophomore captain last season for the Alderson Broaddus Battlers, takes her talents from West Virginia to Tennessee after a season in which the guard was part of a Battlers team that made the postseason Mountain East Conference (MEC) Tournament for the first time in their history.
She averaged 7.6 points a game with a 31% field goal percentage in 14 games last season which started later than usual in January due to COVID-19 restrictions in the US.
The Malta guard, flying in to join the team later on this month, was one of the integral players for the national team this summer in a fourth-place finish in the FIBA Small Countries of Europe Games in Cyprus.
For Angela Adamoli’s side, Galea averaged 9.8 points per game across four games, with a high of 14 against Ireland.
