Valletta FC are set to unveil a new forward after reaching an agreement to sign forward Harris Dilaver, a report in the Bosnian media said.
Bosnian website sportsport.ba reported that the 31-year-old striker is currently in Malta to finalise his move to Valletta FC where he will team up again with Croatian midfielder Ivan Curjuric with whom he played with at Zeljeznicar.
Last season, Dilaver was on the books of Albanian side Vllaznia where he finished as the club’s top scorer and helped the club to win the Albanian Cup.
However, his contract expired at the end of last season, and has now decided to continue his career in Malta with Valletta where he has reportedly put pen to paper on a one-year contract.
According to the report, last season, Dilaver played a total of 43 games for Vllaznia in the Albanian championship, Cup, and in UEFA club competitions, scoring 15 goals.
He was one of the most leading players at the club that managed to win the Albanian Cup and placed second in the championship.
Dilaver came through the youth academy of Celic Zenica and was eventually promoted to the senior team. He then had spells at Vitez and Mladost, before heading to Greece where he layed for Platanias.
In 2020, he had a spell with Uzbekistan side Nasaf before heading to Albania where he moved to Vllaznia Shkoder.
The arrival of Dilaver would be a huge boost for Valletta who are in desperate need of a forward following the sudden departure of Czech striker Milan Jurdik last month that has left Mario Fontanella as the only senior forward at the club.
