Swieqi made a winning start to this league after beating Mtarfa 12-0 while Birkirkara and Mġarr United (picture) secured their second consecutive victories in the MFA Women’s League.
Led by Nenad Tomic, Swieqi could not have asked for a better start as they secured a comfortable win with Dorianne Theuma scoring three goals.
Kelly Agius Pace grabbed a brace with Jade Flask, Jade Schembri, Emma Xuereb, Simone Buttigieg, Shona Zammit, Kayleigh Chetcuti and Demi Magrin scoring the other goals.
Birkirkara scored a goal in each half to beat Kirkop United 2-0. Alishia Sultana broke the deadlock for the Stripes, to score her third goal in two games.
In the second half, debutant Sara Saliba wrapped up the win with a goal on the 74th minute.
Mġarr also won 2-0 against Raiders Lija with Amber Grech and Brenda Borg scoring twice in the opening half to earn three points to the Greens.
