Andrew Cohen to receive fitting farewell in testimonial on Wednesday

The Maltese football fraternity will give a fitting farewell to former Hibernians and Gżira United midfielder Andrew Cohen during a testimonial match at the Tony Bezzina Stadium this evening (kick-off: 6.15pm).

Cohen announced his retirement from the game at the end of last season but both Hibernians and Gżira United were keen to give their former player a deserved send-off in a match that will bring together some of the most talented players that played with Cohen during his playing career.

The match will bring against each other Gżira United and Hibernians.

Initially, the match was due to feature players that played with Cohen at both Hibernians and Gżira United.

However, after the initial testimonial, which was scheduled for December 13, was postponed, the organisers had to effect some changes on the players to play in the match as they drafted in a number of players who played with Cohen with the Malta national team.

The Gżira United lineup includes the likes of Roderick Briffa, Jamie Pace, Rodolfo Soares, Ran Fenech, Alex Muscat, Michael Mifsud and Daniel Bogdanovic.

On the other hand, the Hibernians selection includes the likes of Mario Muscat, Clayton Failla, Bjorn Kristensen, Jurgen Degabriele, Silvio Vella, Jean Paul Farrugia, Andrei Agius, Jonathan Caruana and Ryan Camilleri.

Entrance is free of charge but those who will attend will be ask to make a donation to Puttinu Cares.
