Teddy Teuma’s RUSG hold nine-point lead after Club Brugge draw

Teddy Teuma and his Royal Union Saint-Gilloise produced a commanding showing away at giants Club Brugge as their highly-anticipated direct clash ended in a goalless stalemate, at Brugge’s Jan Breydel Stadium.

Following this draw, Teuma’s side maintains its nine-point lead ahead of second-place Club Brugge, with Radja Nainngolan’s Royal Antwerp sitting in third while trailing RUSG by 10 points and with a game in hand.

The Malta international was deployed from the start and put on a solid display, forcing Club Brugge’s goalkeeper Simon Mignolet to produce a couple of spectacular saves in the first half.

The former Liverpool custodian came to the rescue for his side on a number of occasions as Club Brugge, surprisingly, had to defend for long spells during the game.

Teuma’s RUSG will now shift their attention to Sunday’s big game when they host Vincent Kompany’s Anderlecht in the Brussels derby.
